OUR STORY

As a sixth-generation farmer working full-time on our family-run farm, I’ve been a bit cheeky— as a while ago, I decided to start a registered Highland Cattle fold. While I’m extremely passionate about our Merino Sheep Stud, Hillcreston Superfine Merinos, I’ve absolutely fallen in love with my Highland Cattle.

Hillcreston Superfine Merinos is the heart of our farm’s legacy. We’ve dedicated generations to producing elite superfine wool, with a strong emphasis on fleece quality, staple strength, structure, and animal welfare. Our breeding program focuses on consistency, temperament, and genetic improvement, ensuring we meet both commercial and stud demands.

Transferring knowledge from our sheep stud into the fold has been incredibly useful, especially when it comes to focusing on genetics, correct conformation, and temperament.

Most weekdays and weekends, you’ll find me working with the sheep or cattle on the family farm. And most evenings after work, you’ll find me out in the paddock with my Highland cows—checking things over, giving a few scratches or cuddles, and always dishing out treats and brushes.

Somewhere in between all that, there’s usually a camera in one hand (probably a beer in the other), a poddy lamb or calf close by, dogs running alongside—and always a smile on my face.

Building something slow, strong and worth remembering.
